Thessalia Petrou

Bilingual Program Manager

Thessi’s name reflects her background, as she was born and raised in Hungary to a Cypriot father and a Hungarian mother.

She worked as an English and Spanish language teacher in several alternative high schools, where she created a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students from different backgrounds. For 12 years, she worked as a mentor, teacher and deputy admin director at Belvárosi Tanoda Foundation High School. She was trained as a volunteer worker at the Kék Vonal Gyermekkrízis Alapítvány during the COVID-19 pandemic and has regularly  been consulting children and young adults ever since. She spent 7 years in an administrative position at the American USAID, where she had the opportunity to work and develop in an English-speaking environment here in Budapest. Most recently, she worked for a French pharmaceutical company in the marketing field, from where she is now returning to the new dimension of education as a kindergarten program manager.

She enjoys spending her free time cycling, traveling and attending cultural programs.
