Douglas Macaluso

Teacher DOUGLAS.MACALUSO@BILINGUAL.HU

Douglas is from the USA and graduated from California State University, Chico, with a bachelor’s degree in 2001. After 17 years as a manager for an international logistics company, he discovered a new love in teaching English abroad, which he has been pursuing since 2018. This will be his fifth year teaching English abroad.

His previous experience teaching English to young learners began in Vietnam, where he taught for over a year before moving to Spain to teach for the 2019 school year.

He completed his Master’s degree in English as a Foreign Language Instructor at Eötvös Loránd University in June of 2021 and joined the Bilingual Program for the 2021-2022 school year.

He is looking forward to returning to teaching in the classroom while living in Budapest, not only as a representation of his native country, but also as an open-minded American citizen who is passionate about learning, teaching, and world cultures. When he is not teaching, he may be found touring Hungary and neighboring Eastern European countries, playing football, or practicing playing on his guitar.
