He finished his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Florida in 1992. After completing his Master’s at the University of Chicago, he soon moved on to the International Training Institute in Istanbul to concentrate on TEFL. Over the years he has taught a wide range of ages and levels as well as ESP and exam preparation classes. In addition, he has worked as an exam item writer and is currently a certified examiner for several internationally recognized language exams. He has also conducted teacher training courses and teaching practice workshops focusing on both CLIL and the implementation of communicative teaching methodology.
Tony was born in Bermuda and raised both there and in Florida. After a long stretch in Chicago, he spent several years teaching in Turkey, Portugal, Florida, and England. He is now married and based permanently in Budapest. In 2013 he and his wife had their first child, a boy. While Tony still enjoys traveling, hiking, reading and a few good television programs, his main hobby at the moment is watching his son explore his brand new world.
