Joan Stafford

Joan was born and raised in Blackburn, in the north of England.

Joan has a background in health care and moved into ESL teaching after completing a CELTA in 2000. She is a highly experienced language teacher and teacher trainer, having taught English across a range of language levels, to adults and children both in the UK and abroad. Joan also spent many years as a CELTA teacher trainer in the UK before moving to the Middle East as a lead teacher. She is very excited to be involved in the Bilingual Program and looking forward to exploring Budapest and the surrounding areas. 

In 2017 she completed her Master’s Degree from the University of Manchester, in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, with an extra focus on digital education. Joan enjoys implementing a reflective yet communicative approach within the classroom and encouraging learners to reach their full potential. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, walking in the countryside, doing yoga and reading.

    Abigail was raised in Gauteng, South Africa and graduated from Varsity College Pretoria with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) degree. She also completed her TEFL Certificate during her third year of studies.
