Dana Palojtay-Thiessen

Dana was born in Canada and moved to Hungary in 1989 with her family.

Music has always been a big part of her life and she began her musical training in flute at the age of 6. She received her diploma in Flute Performance at McGill University in Montreal, QC. Throughout her life, Dana has loved working with children as a babysitter in her younger years and as a camp counselor during her university years. While completing her studies in Montreal, Dana also worked as an English conversation partner and mentor for students learning English as a second language at the Continuing Education Department at McGill University.

Her love for children and interest in different cultures led her to then spend a year teaching English to kindergarten and elementary school children in Seoul, South Korea. It was her homesickness that then inspired her to return to Budapest, where she worked at an international kindergarten for several years. Her plan to stay in Budapest for only a temporary time soon became permanent, when she met her Hungarian husband.

Since returning to Budapest Dana has become a certified Early Childhood Caretaker and Educator and has obtained her TEFL certificate.

Dana joined Bilingual in 2014 and worked as main teacher in Bluebell group at Colourful Kindergarten for 3 years. This year she is working as a part-time Teacher Coach at Colourful and Daisy Kindergartens.
