Bilingual Family Day 2023 – köszönjük…thank you...

The weather played a trick on us on September 23, 2023, but we still welcomed approximately 650 participants to the Bilingual Family Day morning! As you can see from the slide-show below, the atmosphere was cheerful, and time passed quickly not only for the Bilingual Program staff but also for the children and their family members at the event.

The event was opened by Éva Györke-Szilágyi, Managing Director of the Bilingual Program and Dr. Kiss László, Mayor of Óbuda-Békásmegyer.

The Bilingual Program teachers engaged the children in various arts, crafts, and sports games at 18 stations in the Bilingual Library, each related to 6 popular books. The children collected stamps for completing tasks, which they later exchanged for a gift.

On the day of the event, last year’s 8th graders, who have since graduated, and current 10th graders from Európa 2000 High School received their official Cambridge Exam certificate from their proud, former native English-speaking teachers as part of the Cambridge Certificate Ceremony.

The highlight of the day was the Costume Showcase: more than 60 children arrived dressed as their favorite book characters, authors, or heroes, and many of them introduced themselves on stage!

We prepared a short video as well:

We would like to express our gratitude to the participants: children, parents, and teachers, for joining us on this joyful Saturday morning despite the rainy weather! Special thanks to the School Administration and staff of Óbudai Nagy László – Váradi school for providing an excellent venue and offering their support!

We look forward to welcoming everyone with love in September 2024!
