Jonathan Escobar Molina

Teacher Trainer jonathan.escobar.molina@bilingual.hu

Joe was born in the city of Armenia (not the country), in the heart of Colombia’s coffee-growing region.

His career began as a Spanish language exchange teacher with Participate Learning in North Carolina, where he taught for six years, followed by two years as an ESL teacher in Miami, Florida. He has spent over 17 years teaching and leading language programs at every level, from elementary classrooms to university faculties, across Colombia, Costa Rica, and the United States.

Before joining Bilingual, Joe worked as a college professor and mentor, helping digital industry professionals in Medellín present video game demos in English to entrepreneurs, with 90% facing their communication fears and pitching their first English demo to industry leaders in under 8 months. He also worked to strengthen bilingual employability in Costa Rica’s tourism and hospitality sector.

He holds an M.A. in TESOL from Greensboro College (GPA 4.0) and a B.A. in Modern Languages from Universidad del Quindío. He also co-designed the Municipal English Curriculum Plan in Armenia, Colombia, and previously managed the English Department at Universidad Santo Tomás.

At Bilingual, Joe works closely with teachers on daily planning, classroom observation, and co-teaching dynamics, focusing on small, practical adjustments that build both student confidence and teacher well-being.

Outside the classroom, Joe DJs and trains regularly in the gym, two things that have taught him as much about pacing, energy, discipline, and consistency as any teaching manual.
