Dora Kovacs

Head of Education – Kindergartens dora.kovacs@bilingual.hu

Dora moved to Hungary from London in 1998.

She went to Middlesex University where she gained a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. She has a diploma in Early Childhood Education, and a TEFL certificate from International House. She was also a student at Ridgeway Studios Theatre Arts School throughout her teenage years, leaving with a Grade 8 LAMDA  Drama examination. She is currently studying Counselling with hopes to continue to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. She has been teaching children since 2002 and joined Szőlőtő in 2006. She is the main English Teacher in purple group at Daisy Kindergarten, where she has proved herself to be a dedicated, reliable and popular member of staff. Her passion is mathematics and believes that through age appropriate fun mathematical games, children can acquire the necessary logical thinking needed to excel in the subject later on in life. For this reason, she has compiled a book of Mathematical Games in Kindergarten to be used by other Szőlőtő kindergarten teachers.   Dora is the daughter of Hungarian parents, but was raised in London. Hungarian culture was always a great part of her life and for this reason she decided to move here for one year. After meeting her husband and having two daughters she was sure that Hungary was where she wanted to settle permanently. Although busy with her family and continuous studies, she makes sure she has time to relax through yoga and meditation. She enjoys arts and craft activities and often makes her own games to use in the kindergarten.
