On Monday, 4 October 2021, the fall phase of the Erasmus+ Project, led by the Bilingual Program, began.
The development of algorithmic thinking and skills in organization and collaboration during the project will have an impact on the daily lives of the participating 8th grade students. This playful development is taking place in a fun way: students are designing and programming an interactive game during the week of the project, endowed with graphics and music, as is typical of any real video game!
On the first day, the students got acquainted with the short but dynamic history of programming, and then the international student groups of 6-7 each gave an example of algorithmic thinking based on their own ideas. For example, one team illustrated the steps involved in making ajvar in a flowchart:

They then performed practice tasks in a visual coding application called Grasshopper, which laid the groundwork for the groups’ knowledge so they can begin planning their future video game on Tuesday.
The Erasmus+ Program provides a resource for the development of digital knowledge in a tender won jointly with KSG Apeldoorn High School and Kliment Ohrid School in North Macedonia. In this international project, teamwork is also international, so by using English as a common language, the students’ English language skills will develop right alongside with their skills in collaboration, project management and algorithmic thinking.
