Cold and windy weather woke us on September 14, 2024, but it could not stop those approximately650 participants whom we welcomed at Krúdy school, the rainy-day venue of Bilingual Family Day! The atmosphere was cheerful for the children and their family members, as you can see in the slide-show below, and time passed in the blink of an eye for the staff of the Bilingual Program as well.
The Bilingual Olympics opened with the lighting of the torch.
The results of the Bilingual Book Storytelling Project and Competition were announced at the Grand Book Ceremony. Each child whose work was selected to go into theBilingual Book received a copy of thescrapbook containing a lot of playful tasks and their certificate.
TheBilingual Book will be availableto order soon, we will write about it in a separate email!
On the day of the event, last year’s 8th graders, who have since graduated, and current 10th graders from Európa 2000 High School received their official Cambridge Exam certificate from their proud, former native English-speaking teachers as part of theCambridge Certificate Ceremony.
While the children were playing, their parents could gain hands-on experience in 3 interactive info sessions at the Parents’ Academy station with what happens to their children in the Bilingual classroom; they could find out why it is worth staying in the Bilingual Program until the end of the 8th grade of primary school and how our teachers help our high school students in choosing a career and preparing them for university admission.
The Bilingual Program teachers engaged the children in various sports and arts and crafts games at14 stations on the 7 islands of the native English-speaking countries of theBilingual Olympics. The children collected stamps for completing tasks, which they later exchanged for a gift.

Special thanks to the School Administration and staff of Krúdy Gyula Primary School for providing an excellent venue and offering their support!
