Lee Beaudoen

Lee is originally from Detroit, Michigan.

He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Interdisciplinary humanities (English, Russian and Communications). Afterwards, he moved to Seattle, where he lived for about fourteen years. There he worked in law before returning to academia to complete a master’s in Museology at the University of Washington. While in Seattle, he expanded his knowledge of foreign languages and his travel experience. He has spent several years in Turkey, where he studied and did research at Boğaziçi University and Koç University. While studying Ottoman history and architectural history in Istanbul, he set his sights on a Ph.D., which he completed at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2017. 

In recent years, Lee has traded the Bosporus for the Danube. He has lived in Budapest since 2019, where he has worked as an assistant professor in History, International Relations, Humanities, and English and American Studies, at Pázmány Péter Catholic University and Károli Gáspár University. 

He enjoys cooking, traveling, history, literature, languages, and martial arts.
