During college, Ben spent a semester working at a primary school in Guatemala, where he taught English as a foreign language and supported the school administration. He spent another semester abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, studying Latin American literature, film, history, and sociolinguistics at the Universidad de Belgrano, a local university.
Ben has tutored primary school, secondary school, and undergraduate university students one-on-one in subjects such as Spanish as a foreign language, history, and mathematics. His foreign language teaching experience also includes tutoring adult immigrants in the USA in English and teaching extracurricular Spanish classes to undergraduate and graduate students.
In his free time, Ben enjoys traveling; watching baseball; spending time in nature, whether it be at the beach, by a lake, or in the mountains; and listening to music, especially reggaeton, American country, and American pop-rock from the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s.
