Bilingual Dutch–Hungarian Exchange Program 2026

The Bilingual Dutch–Hungarian Exchange Program provides an excellent opportunity for Dutch and Hungarian students to get to know each other’s cultures through travel, relationship-building, and collaborative problem-solving, using English as their common language. This year marked the fifth edition of the program, organized in cooperation with KSG Apeldoorn.

The Hungarian week of the exchange program took place from April 12 to 17 and included a variety of excursions and activities at several locations. Krúdy Gyula Bilingual Primary School, Óbudai Nagy László Bilingual Primary School, Megyeri Úti Primary School, and Budakeszi Széchenyi István Primary School hosted the school-based activities for the group of 41 students.

In addition to sports, cultural, and artistic activities, the students worked on the first phase of their project, “Your Life, My Life.”

In May, it was time for the Grade 8 students of the Bilingual Program to travel to the Netherlands. From May 18 to 23, they spent a week in Apeldoorn, staying with Dutch host families, attending a Dutch school, and taking part in a variety of cultural programs. They cycled to the beautiful city of Deventer, joined an excursion to Amsterdam where they visited the Rijksmuseum and explored the city, and toured the historic Palace Het Loo.

During the week, the students continued working on the second phase of their collaborative project with their Dutch partners. On the final day, they presented the results of their work.

The Bilingual Dutch–Hungarian Exchange Program was undoubtedly an enjoyable and memorable experience for both students and teachers. Our students took another step toward independence while practicing their English in a fun and authentic environment—a wonderful way to conclude their primary school years.
