In late January 2026, eight Bilingual Program students from Europa 2000 High School traveled to Cambridge, U.K., to compete at Cambridge Model United Nations (CAMMUN), one of the most prestigious international Model United Nations conferences in Europe.<\/p>\n\n

\n\n

\u2753 What Is Model United Nations?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the real United Nations. Students act as \u201cdelegates\u201d representing assigned countries and debate real-world global issues in committees that mirror those of the UN. <\/p>\n\n

Delegates must:\u2022 Research their country\u2019s foreign policy \u2022 Deliver formal speeches \u2022 Negotiate with other countries \u2022 Draft and amend resolutions \u2022 Vote on proposed solutions<\/p>\n\n

The topics are complex and highly relevant to today\u2019s world. Success requires maturity, critical thinking, diplomacy, and strong public speaking skills. \ud83c\udf1f<\/p>\n\n

\n\n

\ud83d\ude80 A Young Team with Big Ambitions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Four of our students were attending their first international conference, and one delegate had never participated in an official MUN competition before. However, they understood the responsibility of representing Hungary \ud83c\udded\ud83c\uddfa, the Bilingual Program, and Europa 2000 High School. <\/p>\n\n

With additional motivation from the Nemzeti Tehets\u00e9g Program grant, preparation began early and intensively\u2014even during Winter Break. \ud83d\udcda<\/p>\n\n

The complexity of this year\u2019s topics demanded serious academic engagement:<\/p>\n\n

Gr\u00e9ta and Younos worked on:\u2022 Protective trade policies\u2022 Environmentally sustainable trade infrastructure<\/p>\n\n

International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) \u2708\ufe0f<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

No\u00e9mi focused on:\u2022 Aviation safety\u2022 Affordability of civilian passenger flights<\/p>\n\n

Crisis Security Council \ud83d\udea8<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Bendeg\u00faz participated in a fast-paced crisis simulation involving:\u2022 The spread of a super artificial intelligence posing a threat to humanity<\/p>\n\n

Almost all of our Bilingual Program\u2013Eur\u00f3pa 2000 delegates served as main submitters of at least one resolution in their committees \u2014 a strong indicator of leadership and deep topic understanding. \ud83d\udcdc<\/p>\n\n

\ud83c\udfa4 Three Days of Diplomacy in Cambridge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The conference lasted three days, from Friday to Sunday.<\/p>\n\n

Opening Ceremonies \ud83c\udf93<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Delegates were welcomed by organizers and an inspiring keynote address from Menna Rawlings, a senior British diplomat and the first female UK Ambassador to France. Our students actively participated in the Q&A session, asking about her experiences as a woman in diplomacy. <\/p>\n\n

After months of preparation and three intense days of debate, the Closing Ceremonies brought well-earned recognition.<\/p>\n\n
