I feel very lucky to be working at the school where I am because I have all the resources and support I need at my fingertips.

I arrived in Budapest in August of 2019, having never lived or taught abroad, but I wanted an adventure. The company were with me every step of the way, from the airport trip to my new apartment, to getting me ready for teaching. The month before school is filled with an intense training session, which can feel overwhelming at times, but it’s a year’s worth of information in a short space of time. As the year gets going you start to remember the things you were taught in training and it all starts falling into place.

The first day of teaching was a daunting experience, as it was my first time teaching and being in a co-teaching environment, but the Hungarian teachers made me feel so at ease and helped me settle in. They are understanding and caring, and I have learnt so much from them, and continue to do so.

The children are amazing to teach, there is an incredible energy in the classroom every day and it makes the lessons a joy to teach. I feel very lucky to be working at the school where I am because I have all the resources and support I need at my fingertips. My manager and coordinators are always there to help or just to lend an ear. Besides the wonderful teaching experience I have had so far, I am so lucky to work in one of the most vibrant cities, Budapest. There is so much culture and history in every corner of this beautiful country. It’s three years later and I am still finding something new. I am so grateful for the opportunities and experiences this city, and this company, have afforded me. I recommend this experience for anyone…it’s an adventure that will stay with you forever.
